When should I book a date?
As soon as you set your date and have an idea of what kind of music you would like to be played at the event! We can guide you in making song selections for your event. Carman Violin Studio LLC can also provide last minute services upon date availability.
What is required to reserve my date?
A signed copy of the contract with your personalized quote and a 50% non-refundable deposit will reserve your date. The remaining amount is due at the time of the event prior to the performance (usually during the set-up time). We typically require that the date be reserved at least 30 days in advance. However, feel free to inquire to see if your date is still available.
When should we make the music selections?
We request that music selections are finalized no later than two weeks prior the event given that the music is selected from our repertoire. Special requests have to be arranged before the signing of the contract, and we ask that you give us at least 30 days of notice so that we can order the required music and have adequate time to prepare for your event.
Are you willing to play outside?
Yes, we frequently perform outside. We request that you get us a covered spot to perform to prevent instrument damage. We can now provide a canopy for a small fee.
When will the musician(s) arrive to the event?
We typically arrive 30 minutes prior to the event’s start time in order to give us an adequate time to set up and go over music cues with the coordinator.
How will the musician(s) be dressed?
The dress code is typically men in tuxedos or dark suit and long tie and women in black. If you need the musicians to be dressed differently, please make a special request prior to getting a personalized quote.
Will the musician(s) need to attend my rehearsal?
We do not need to attend the rehearsal. If we are coordinating with other musician of your choice (any other musician not hired by Carman Violin Studio LLC–i.e. family, friend, another professional who will be singing, playing the piano, or any other instrument with us) then a dress rehearsal is mandatory with an additional charge.
Will the Violinist need processional cues?
To ensure that your procession runs as smoothly as possible, it is important that someone is able to provide us with cues as each part of your procession is ready to begin walking down the isle.
What is the minimum amount of time I can book?
All quotes start with a minimum of 75 minutes at the event. Keep in mind that even if you only need the musician for only 10 minutes of performance time, you are compensating for the musician’s practice time and talent, commute and set up time, and the performance.
